Tailor-made "artificial tissue" (22/12/11) In a joint interdisciplinary project, the neutron scattering group and the biomechanics group offer a 3 year position for a PhD student, starting February 2012 or later. The PhD project will be conducted within the framework of the International Helmholtz Research School BioSoft (IHRS BioSoft, www.ihrs-biosoft.de). In the neutron scattering group, structure and dynamics of polymers will be investigated, in the biomechanics group, cells and their mechanical interaction with the environment will be studied.

within the DFG/NSF‐funded research project “Improving understanding of ice nucleation and growth inhibition mechanisms via new isotopic tracer studies in the AIDA aerosol chamber”. The project will be carried out in close cooperation with the University of Chicago (USA) and the Physikalisch‐Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Braunschweig. A set of innovative diode laser spectrometers are available for the project.
