Die Arbeit wird sich mit der Charakterisierung des Survival Motor Neuron (SMN) Komplexes befassen. Die dazu angewandten Techniken beinhalten insbesondere die Optimierung von Proteinkonstrukten für die Kristallisation, Proteinaufreinigung und biochemische Charakterisierung.

Pathogene Escherichia coli (EHEC) sind Krankheitserreger, die schwere, z.T. blutige Durchfallerkrankungen auslösen, welche in einigen Fällen zu Nierenversagen und neurologischen Schäden führen. Also Reservoir galten bisher vor allem Wiederkäuer und entsprechendes Fleisch als Hauptüberträger. Epidemiologische Daten legen jedoch nahe, dass kontaminierte pflanzliche Lebensmittel eine Rolle bei der Übertragung spielen und wir haben Hinweise darauf, dass diese Erreger in Pflanzen Virulenzgene exprimieren.

Eine motivierte Diplombiologin sucht neue Herausforderung (02/11/08) während meiner Ausbildung zur Diplombiologin habe ich mich mit unterschiedlichen Themengebieten beschäftigt. Durch verschiedene Forschungsschwerpunkte, wie die „Untersuchung zum Vorkommen von Phagen antagonistisch wirkender Bakterien in der Rhizosphäre der Erdbeere“, Untersuchungen zum „Sporulationsverhalten in Clostridium acetobutylicum“, mikroskopische Analysen in der Parasitologie oder im Zuge meiner Diplomarbeit die „Charakterisierung der miRNA des Epstein-Barr-Virus“ bin ich mit verschiedenen Techniken sehr vertraut. Ich würde gerne im Rahmen einer Promotion ab November dieses Jahres eines dieser Fachgebiete weiter vertiefen.
