The department of Tumor Genetics and Immunogenetics at the MDC invites applications for two Postdoc positions. The projects aim at the development of biologicals / small molecules for the treatment of chronic inflammatory autoimmune diseases and cancer. The successful applicant will utilize state of the art molecular genetic and biochemical approaches as well as experimental animal models to develop and validate therapeutics targeting the chemokine system.
The applicants should have a PhD in biology, biochemistry, medicine or a similar discipline with profound knowledge in the area of immunology, molecular biology and protein chemistry (development of biologicals) or pharmacology (development of small molecules). They are expected to be highly motivated, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Expertise in mouse model systems, flow cytometry and histology would be an advantage. Candidates will also have a chance to employ novel molecular imaging techniques to track lymphocyte / tumor cell fate in vivo.
We offer great opportunities for scientific as well as professional development. The post will be full-time for 3 years in the first instance and can be prolonged to at least 5 years.
