The Faculty of Science, Department of Biology, Chair of
Proteomics, is offering a
Post-doctoral position
to a highly motivated scientist. The successful applicant will
join a research team to study fundamental aspects of bone
remodeling. In particular, we are trying to have a comprehensive
understanding of how osteoclasts differentiate, how they
reorganize key cellular functions (membranes and cytoskeleton)
during differentiation and how osteoclasts and osteoblasts
communicate to coordinate bone digestion and rebuilding. We are
using global approaches, in particular proteomics and gene
silencing technology.
The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research
Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG).
Applications are invited for a 2 year period. An extension of
the contract might be possible. Salary will be in accordance of
E 13 TV-L.
Requirements: The candidate must have a relevant scientific
degree and graduation. Furthermore, the applicant should have an
extensive expertise in one or more of the following areas:
biochemistry, molecular and cell biology. A good background in
protein biochemistry and mass spectrometry would be an
advantage. Due to the international nature of the lab and close
cooperation with other research groups and Biotec companies,
knowledge in English language and ability for teamwork are
