Scientific Collaborator: Research / Teaching Assistant.
(Ph.D. Student, E13 TV-L, before BAT IIa).
 
for a research project in the area of Systems Analyses of the Safety of Nuclear Power Installations. The main subject of the project is the development and implementation of methodologies for the analysis of the uncertainty in neutronic and coupled thermal hydraulic analyses of nuclear power plant transients.
 
We look for a candidate with good knowledge in one or several of these topics: fluid mechanics, heat transfer, nuclear physics, numerical and statistical methods, systems analysis, and scientific computer simulation. It is also desired that the candidate has experience in the use of computers and an interest in working with state-of-the-art computer simulation programs used for nuclear systems analysis.
 
Good knowledge of English is necessary. Good knowledge of German is desirable.
In addition to working on the PhD topic, the candidate is expected to assist in the preparation and teaching of nuclear technology classes, to take part in the assistance and guidance of studentsŽ diploma work, and to participate in other scientific activities carried out at the Chair.
 
The position is available for 3 to 4 years, with the objective of completing a doctoral degree at the Technical University of Munich. The participation in international conferences and the writing of journal papers is encouraged, as well as the involvement of diploma students in the work related to the PhD subject.
