Opportunities exist for enthusiastic individuals with interest in the field of cancer to join the Institute of Medical Radiation Biology at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Medical School, with the purpose of completing a Ph.D. degree (Doktoranden). Available projects are on exciting areas of investigation covering aspects of cellular responses to DNA damage, with emphasis on checkpoint response and DNA repair. Candidates should have a degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related subject, and interest in research. Experience in cellular responses to DNA damage, or cell cycle regulation, are desirable. Involvement in the teaching of medical students possible.
 
Compensation is through a fellowship or is calculated according to the German BAT IIA level (half position).
