The UNITED NATIONS UNIVERSITY Institute for Environment and Human Environment (UNUEHS) in Bonn has been conceived and created to assess the vulnerability and coping capacity of 
societies facing natural and human-induced hazards in a changing environment. Generating policy 
relevant knowledge and engaging in innovative human capacity building are core tasks emanating 
from this mandate. In this capacity, UNU-EHS is one of 18 partners based in Germany and Vietnam 
implementing the WISDOM (Water-related Information System for the sustainable Development Of the 
Mekong delta in Vietnam) project (for more information visit http://www.ehs.unu.edu/category:46). 
 
UNU-EHS invites applications of two Student Assistants: 
 
· Student Assistant $-1òó Reference W/SA1/UNU-EHS 
Natural sciences background oriented towards agriculture or pesticide management 
 
The applicant will support activities linked to pesticide monitoring and modelling in the Mekong Delta,
Vietnam. Other roles will include support in preparation of reports, literature searches, organisation of 
events and various administrative tasks. 
 
· Student Assistant $-1òó Reference W/SA2/UNU-EHS 
Geography background 
 
The applicant will support activities linked to the vulnerability assessment of communities facing rapid 
onset and creeping hazards in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam. Other roles will include support in 
preparation of reports, literature searches, organisation of events and various administrative tasks. 
 
These two positions belong to the UNU-EHS Section on Environmental Assessment and Resource 
Vulnerability in close collaboration with the Section on Vulnerability Assessment. The successful 
applicants will work with the Heads as well as with other scientists and students of these sections.

The appointment is on a part-time basis. Starting date will be as soon as possible after appointment.
The successful candidates will be based at UNU-EHS in Bonn. The position is open to applicants who
are currently involved in a university curriculum.
